<!-- page: First, give your website an address -->

**Get ready:** This lesson has two sittings. **The first** (20 minutes): give your website an address, and write the titles and text for both platforms. **The second** (25 minutes): post to YouTube and Xiaohongshu (RedNote). You'll need the video Claude edited in Lesson 2, plus your website and free mini-resource from Quick Start Lesson 9. Let AI write the titles, descriptions, the Xiaohongshu post text, and the cover text. You choose and you check. Use a computer for this page.

**Why an address?** The website from Quick Start Lesson 10 is a file saved on your computer. Other people can't open it. To bring viewers to your website, first give it a web address. We use **Netlify Drop**: it's free, and you drag your file onto a web page to get an address.

1. **Download the website file:** Following Quick Start Lesson 10, download the HTML file from Claude's artifact panel.
2. **Put it in a folder:** Make a new folder on your desktop called `my-site`. Put the downloaded file in it, and **rename it `index.html`** (a website's home page must have this name).
3. **Sign up:** In your browser, open **app.netlify.com/drop** and sign up for free first, then log in (Google is easiest). You can drag without logging in, but if you don't claim the site within an hour, it gets deleted, so log in first. [to verify: the sign-up button, and how to get back to the Drop page after logging in]
4. **Drag it in:** Drag the whole `my-site` folder into the box in the middle of the page. Wait a few seconds and an address appears, something like `xxxx.netlify.app`. [to verify]
5. **Open that address on your phone** and check that the website looks right. Then save the address in the Context of your "My Website" project, and use it from now on.

**Changed your website later?** Download again, rename, and drag once more. The free plan is enough for a small website, but each drag uses up a little of it, so save up a few changes and do them together [to verify: how many drags the free plan allows]. The website is public, so put only your email on it. No phone number, no home address.

<!-- page: Write the titles, text, and cover text -->

**The two platforms have different rules. Remember these three first:**

- **YouTube short videos (Shorts):** Vertical videos 3 minutes or shorter become Shorts automatically when uploaded. **Links in a Short's description and comments can't be clicked.** The only clickable link is the one on **your channel's home page**. Wider, longer "long videos" have clickable links in the description. That's for later.
- **Xiaohongshu (RedNote):** You **can't leave a web address, email, or WeChat ID** anywhere: not in posts, comments, your profile, or messages. You also can't say "see my profile" or "search for me on another platform." If you do, your posts get shown to fewer people, or your account gets banned. So write your free mini-resource **right into the post text**. People get it as soon as they finish reading.
- **So on both platforms, it's the same:** put the full free mini-resource in the text below the video. That matches the last line of your Lesson 2 video perfectly.

Go back to the "My Website" project and start a new chat:

```
I'm posting a 60-second vertical short video to YouTube Shorts and Xiaohongshu (RedNote). The video script is: [paste your Lesson 2 script]
The full text of my free mini-resource: [paste]
My website address: [address]
Please write:
For YouTube:
1. 3 titles, each under 60 characters. The first half says what the viewer gets. Add " #Shorts" at the end;
2. The description: the first line is one sentence saying what the viewer gets; then the full free mini-resource; then one line "More: [address]"; and 3 hashtags at the end;
3. A comment I'll post myself: ask viewers a question they can answer in 3 seconds, about their own situation.
For Xiaohongshu:
4. 3 titles, each no more than 20 characters;
5. The post text: open with one sentence saying what the viewer gets, then the full free mini-resource, and end with a question they can answer in 3 seconds. No web addresses, emails, or WeChat IDs at all. Don't say "see my profile." Don't mention YouTube;
6. 5 topic tags;
7. Cover text: two lines, no more than 3 words each, using different words from the title.
Use only what I gave you. Do not make anything up. Do not promise results. After each title, tell me what it gives the viewer.
```

**Choose titles with these four questions.** A title must hit at least one: Does the viewer see it and think "I want that"? Do they want to know "what is this"? Is there a "stop making this mistake"? Is there a "that's me too"? A title like "An introduction to picture book selection" hits none. Don't use it.

**Let Claude make the Xiaohongshu cover too.** A Xiaohongshu cover is vertical 3:4, which is different from the first frame of your video. Open the **Code** tab in the desktop app, choose your **My Short Videos** folder from Lesson 2, and say:

```
From "final-[latest version].mp4", please pick 3 frames where my eyes are open and my face looks good, and make each one a Xiaohongshu cover: vertical 3:4 (1080×1440), with the cover text "[line one] / [line two]" in big letters a little above the middle, not touching the edges, not covering my face. Save them as "cover-1.jpg" to "cover-3.jpg" and show me when you're done.
```

Pick the one you like best and move it to your phone along with the video (the reverse of how you moved the footage in Lesson 2).

<!-- page: Post on YouTube -->

**Second sitting · Post on YouTube first. It's clearest on a computer.**

1. **Add a channel home page link (only once):** Open **studio.youtube.com** and sign in with your Google account (if you don't have a channel yet, it will ask you to create one first) [to verify]. Click **Customization** on the left, then **Profile**. Under **Links**, click **Add link**. For the title, write "Free checklist and my website," fill in your address, and click **PUBLISH**. The first link shows next to the "Subscribe" button on your channel home page. Shorts viewers who tap your profile picture can see it.
2. **Upload:** Click **CREATE** in the top right, choose **Upload videos**, and in the **My Short Videos** folder pick the final version of your video.
3. **Fill it in:** Paste the title and description you chose on the last page. A Short's cover is the video's first frame. Claude already put the opening big text there in Lesson 2, so you don't need a separate cover.
4. **Audience:** Choose **No, it's not made for kids**. You're talking to parents and grown-ups, so it doesn't count as "made for kids." If it asks whether the content has realistic footage changed or made by AI: AI only helped you edit and add captions, and the picture and voice are really you, so choose **No** [to verify: where this question appears and its exact wording].
5. **Schedule:** At the **Visibility** step, choose **Schedule**, pick the date, time, and time zone, and click **Schedule**. If you don't want to schedule, choose **Public** and click **Publish**.
6. **After posting:** Open the video, post your question in the comments, click the **⋮** next to the comment, and choose **Pin** [to verify: the pin button on a Shorts page].

You can also post from your phone: in the YouTube app, tap **+** (Create) at the bottom, choose to upload a video, fill in the title and choose the audience as prompted, and tap **UPLOAD**. Whether you can schedule on the phone: [to verify].

<!-- page: Post on Xiaohongshu (RedNote) -->

**Next, post on Xiaohongshu using the phone app.** If you don't have an account yet, search for "Xiaohongshu" (English name rednote) in the App Store or Google Play, download it, and sign up. Your account name can't contain a phone number, email, or web address.

1. Tap the **+** in the middle at the bottom, choose the video you moved to your phone, and tap **下一步** (Next). [to verify]
2. **Cover:** Tap the cover box, choose to upload from your photo library, and pick the cover image Claude made [to verify: the name of the "choose from album" button in the cover editor]. If you can't find this option, pick a frame where your eyes are open and your face looks good, and type in the cover text the AI wrote.
3. **Title, post text, topic tags:** Paste the ones you chose on the earlier page. Add topic tags with **#**. Look once more before pasting: no web address, no email, no "see my profile."
4. **Post:** Most Xiaohongshu users are in China, and it's busiest from 8 to 10 p.m. Beijing time. If you're in the US, 9 p.m. Beijing time = 5 a.m. Pacific in winter (6 a.m. in summer daylight time), and 8 a.m. Eastern in winter (9 a.m. in summer). You can tap **发布** (Post) at that time, or use scheduled posting [to verify: where scheduled posting is in the phone app]. **The scheduled time you enter is Beijing time**, not your local time. After scheduling, open **笔记管理** (Note management) and check it again.

**Don't walk away after posting.** If someone comments on day one, answer their question right there in the comments. It's the same on both platforms: sincerely replying to every comment works better than any trick.

Last, save the video links from both platforms: on YouTube, click **Share** under the video, then **Copy link**. On Xiaohongshu, tap the **分享** (Share) icon in the top right and choose **复制链接** (Copy link) [to verify].
